Shepherd's Pie

Here's a shepherd's pie that I made to bless the NTU exam warriors. haha some would ask where's the pie in this baked dish. it's something that puzzles me to but this pie just doesn't have any pie crust, its just a base layer of mashed potatoes, filling of minced meat, mushrooms, tomatoes, onion and gravy, topped with another layer of potatoes and you can add some carrots if you like (mine had plenty cos I love carrots =))

my easy trick of making this dish is to use half a can of cream of mushroom soup to cook the filling, this way you can't go wrong on it taste, and don't forget to add pepper of that tinge of spice! Also, for the potatoes to be smooth, add some oil or butter, i'd recommend butter or olive oil for the fragrance and olive oil's healthy too =)

Another healthier alternative: This dish is usually cooked with minced meat, but diced chicken breast makes delicious shepherd's pies too, but take note to not overcook them lest they become too dry and tough =)
